The Center for Computational Physics (CFC) is a Research Institute committed to excellence in Theoretical and Computational Physics. The CFC is located in the Physics Department of the Faculty of Science and Technology of the University of Coimbra. It has strong collaborations with other research institutes in Coimbra: CEMDRX, LIP, CNC, and CISUC. The CFC is also involved in collaborations between the Portuguese government and the University of Texas at Austin (UTA) and it is the Portuguese representative in PRACE, the Partnership for Advanced Computing in Europe.

The CFC research activities span most areas of Physics, from Quantum Chromodynamics and Nanophysics to Astrophysics, bridging many time and length scales. The diverse scientific expertise of the researchers has been crucial in fostering collaborations and advancing innovation in fundamental research.

The Center has an external advisory committee (CEPAC) that critically assesses its performance and makes recommendations on the scientific policy. The external advisers are:

Angel Rubio
University of the Basque Country
San Sebastian/Donostia, Spain
   Artur Polls
