Abstract: A Hamiltonian and its associated Lagrangian are presented for classical relativistic point particles which carry out harmonic oscillations inside a spherical cavity of well-defined radius. It is shown that the particles follow geodesics in an alternative metric. The relevance of the model for the description of hadrons is discussed. Electromagnetism can be introduced in the usual way.
