Abstract: Recently it was demonstrated that turbulence in the solar wind and the intermittent properties of magnetic fluctuations in the Earth's plasma sheet can be studied using the statistical approach (Dorotovic and Voros, 2004). Comparison of higher order moments (skewness and kurtosis) for selected events from the years 1996-2002 (Dorotovic and Voros, 2005), however, provided no straightforward clues how the turbulence statistics in the solar wind and in the Earth's plasma sheet can be physically interconnected. In this paper we investigate cases when peculiarities of specific conditions in both regions can be considered and their influence on turbulence statistics can be recognized.
