Abstract: With an intensive photometric study of Centaurs and Trans-Neptunian Objects (Edgeworth-Kuiper Belt Objects) populations we aim towards the establishment of a taxonomic classification scheme and the understanding of the physical and chemical processes that characterize them. We present our latest results in visible photometry for 72 objects obtained under the 'ESO Large Program on Centaurs and TNOs' - one of the largest samples known -, analyzing and discussing: color-color and color-orbital parameters correlations; the (in)distinguishability between the various classes; their color distributions and the question of possible distinct sub-populations.
