Abstract: A theorem in relativistic mechanics, establishing the relation between the variation of the rotational energy with the angular momentum variation, is derived. The theorem has a counterpart for relativistic translations. On the other hand, it also has a counterpart in non-relativistic rotational mechanics. Interestingly enough, to the best of our knowledge, that relation has never been presented in articles or textbooks. We discuss the relativistic rotation of a ring to illustrate how rotational dynamics works and to show the usefulness of the above mentioned theorem.
